Feed Them!

During my Bible study this morning I ran across this scripture:

Mat 14:15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food."
Mat 14:16 Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."

So many times as writers, we forget that God has given us something to share. We think that we need to send people to the pastor or elders or someone "more spiritual" than we are.

The Bible says to always be ready to give an answer. (1 Peter 3:15)
Jesus said "Don't send them away, You give them something to eat."

Jesus blessed what they had (the fishes and loaves) and the disciples were able to feed the 5000.

God will bless your words, you just have to be willing to write them for His glory and trust Him. He's faithful. Then the people will be fed.

Be encouraged today that God is with you. You can do this!

Just a thought.

How about you? Do you have any thoughts?

Sometimes I think we're afraid to feed for fear of giving them the wrong thing. That's when the power of prayer can be an awesome testament to God's glory. :-)

Whenever I see that my blog has blessed others, I am always in awe of it. The power of words is incredible. There is a reason they say the pen is mightier than the sword. Thanks for sharing this, Ginger.

Wow. My husband's dad was in Japan in the Navy before Pearl Harbor--like in 1927 or so. He had been discharged and re-enlisted after Pearl. I never knew Hugh, he died when my husband was around 11 or 12 years old. But my mother-in-law says she thinks he had flashbacks from things he saw; he drank heavily and never talked about his military time. Stories like yours need to be told over and over; we should never forget the sacrifices on both sides, and I pray that people would learn from these stories in today's troubled times. Great post!

P.S. Are you going to Writing for the Soul this year?
